Sharp Race for Brain Aneurysm Awareness

When I’m not behind the lens (or behind the computer editing!) or with my family, it’s a good bet that you can find me at my ‘regular’ job working as a nurse.  I work in the Neurological Intensive Care unit at the Nebraska Medical Center, where we take care of all of the regions strokes, brain tumors, seizure disorders, and any other problems with the brain.  One of the big things our unit did in 2013 was put on a 5K fundraising run.  We dedicated it after a patient that is a walking miracle, as we didn’t think she would be here today.  This fundraiser took an immense amount of work to put together and I was happy to volunteer my services to memorialize the event.  We raised nearly $30,000 to promote brain aneurysm awareness, and I can’t wait to be part of it again this year!!
